DT # 4 Assignment

This has been a rough month - end of school year and I got very sick that I was in bed for 2 weeks. So this month was a huge challenge for me. I had an idea of what I wanted to do but when no ideas and creativity is flows when you are in bed with no energy.

So, here is the end result of our DT # 4 assignment: we had to use Heidi Swapp Invisibles chipboard, paper and chipboard embellishments. I was excited to use these products, it is such a different style but a big challenge.
To accent my layouts, I used lace, ribbon and I layered rub-ons. While doing this assignment I found the line a difficult task to match with other papers, so I settled for white cardstock. My daughter was very excited that I picked her to be the subject in the assignment, she was pleased with the layout so that makes me feel like I accomplishment the assignment. I am up for suggestions. I am just glad to be finished and feeling better!

DT Assignment # 3

It's amazing how my style changes with what I have to work with. This month I was given brown cardstock with Pink Paislee Enchanting Paper, tickets, buzz & bloom chipboard.
Some of the challenges I had to do were- use scalloped edged paper, cluster embellishments on the layout - (Good at that), use only 3 pictures, and use birds, owls, or bees new animals on the layouts.

The most challenging was to incorporate the tickets with the layout so I flip the tickets over and inked the edges stamped swirls and heat embossed them. The tickets are the base of the flower with flowers stacked on top. I used the new prima bulky flowers from the swaney collection to accent the layout and used the buzz and bloom chipboard for the stems. I stamped the stems and heat embossed them. I cut out butterflys and a rose from the pink paislee paper that I was given to add to the cluster embellishments. I stickled the butterflys and the rose and added cute little wigglely eyed bees to pollenate the flowers...lol

Group Night

We had group night at our Design Team Meeting, it wa so much fun! I really enjoyed working with Tanya! It's amazing when you put two scrappers with different styles combine what you come up with! I think we did a pretty good Job! Here it is!

A few layouts from Scrapfest

Well, I got to attend my first scapfest in August, well all I have to say is those women mean business! I scrapped a whole Mardi Gras book and a couple of Colorado layouts.
It was an experience and a fun time to add to our list of great memories with all of our Lafayette crew! I was so tired from scrapping from 9 in the morning till 12 midnight and not a minute earlier! We had the best table from decorations, friends, supplys, food, conversations, music, all the way down to our table having 3 winners!
Here are a couple of Colorado layouts, I am sorry for the quality of the pictures, sometimes it works with me and sometimes it doesn't. I will post some more over the next couple of days

Design Team Assignment # 2

I know it has been awhile since I posted, I will try to post more on a regular basis. March was a busy month with 2 kids in soccer and tournaments every weekend. But I managed to get out the 2nd assignment! Here it is!

We had to use 4 patterned papers of the same line - mine was Teresa Collins - Journal It Girl.
At first I was scared at how I was going to use journal tags as patterned paper since they weren't big pieces. The colors weren't a problem Pink, white & black are my favorite colors and my godchild helped me with it. So this is the end result. I think it turned out better than I was picturing it too. I hope it helps someone else use that line that doesn't know what to do with it.

Products I used: Teresa Collins - Journal It Girl paper line, cardstock, buttons, crown transparency, Letters - Creative Imagination - Renae's House

First Design Team Assignment

Our first assignment was to do a layout about ourselves. Well I just explained where I am in my life right now, about believing in myself. It was a difficult layout to scrapbook about yourself.
Products I used: Rusty Pickle -Chocolate Covered Cherries Line, with the ribbons, letter stickers, & journaling tag. Embellishments with chipboard hearts, crackled with Tim Holtz (Ancient Linen) and brown embossing powder.
Our next assignment is due March 17th. Fingers are crossed and hoping new ideas will come to me in dreams!
